Turning Pain Into Power: How to heal after separation & divorce (any painful times)
I was recently asked to be a guest on The Mindful Corner podcast. I sat down with Boss Mom and Psychologist, Dr. Erika Velez to discuss how I’ve turned pain into power. While I hate to admit it, I’ve known pain for most of my life. The biggest emotional pain was losing my mother because of my father at the age of 15.
Now 35, and after going through a separation, I decided to turn my pain into power. And just to emphasize, my ex “was and still is amazing”. People just grow apart and that’s okay. But painful times, such as: loss, grief, separation and divorce are difficult. I don’t wish them on anyone, which is why I uncorked this part of my story and personal perspective on pain.
The reality is that we will experience emotional pain more than once in our lives, which is why we have to get comfortable with sitting with our emotions if we want to heal and move forward.
