Miami Spa Month: The Setai Miami Beach
Listen up ladies, self-care should be a priority. If you are anything like me, you are always making excuses and putting yourself last. But no more.
I am making it a priority to put myself first without feeling guilty. Are you with me? So when my best friend Janine, who's like a sister, asked me to take advantage of Miami Spa Month with her, I didn't think twice. Being the planner that I am, I coordinated our spa day at The Setai Miami Beach. On Friday, July 10th, we got beach-glammed up and headed to The Setai.
It was Janine's first time at The Setai. Let's just say she was impressed from the second she entered the property. Greeted by friendly staff, we made our way to the spa eager to get our "relaxation on". The spa staff gave us a warm welcome and Spa Director Laura De La Rosa (sweetheart) walked us over to the locker room. With a pretty wicker tray in hand, she handed us a robe, sandals, disposable underwear, and a shimmering body oil. We got to keep the sandals and body oil as a gift.
After a few fun bathroom pictures in our robes, we waited in the spa sitting area until our massage therapists, Karina and Agnieszka came to escort us to a tandem suite (massage suite). They first washed our feet while explaining the massage. I liked that they asked us if we had any injuries or sensitive areas. I, for one, cannot get deep tissue massages. After chatting with us, they began the Asian Fusion massage on us (this is where I was taken to heaven for 60 minutes). The Asian Fusion massage frees the body of all its tension using light to medium pressure. Sorry, I cannot give you all the details. You'll have to experience it for yourself (HIGHLY recommend it). The massage was $99 per person (20% gratuity included), but since the massage therapists were amazing, we tipped them on the regular massage price (hint, hint).
Following our massage, we headed over to the pool. You cannot beat a day in the sun and an amazing massage for $99. We didn't eat or drink from the pool menu, since we are both on the 21 Day Fix program, but we did see the menu and the food sounds delicious. The menu offers a lot of healthy choices. Thankfully, the pool staff didn't give us any issues with our tupperware party. Maybe it was the nice tip we left the pool attendant. In any case, we had a great girls day. It gave us time to laugh and catch up. It also allowed me to relax and reflect, which is priceless.
Special thanks to The Setai for a relaxing and memorable day. Looking forward to returning with my hubby soon. This time, I'm checking out the pool menu.
Ladies, treating yourself doesn't mean you have to spend a lot of money. You can take advantage of specials like this, take a nice bubble bath (with a glass of wine, of course) or enjoy a day at the beach reading. It's really up to you.
Go check out The Setai and post pics on social media with hashtag #winewithnat.
