How to Embrace Curveballs & Changes in Life

I’m not the same girl…2018 changed me. For the first time in my life, I gave myself permission to put myself first. And I learned how to embrace the curveballs and changes in my life. I admit that I wasn’t always on my a-game with my brands and businesses. Or present for everyone and their needs. But that’s because I was being kind to myself.

The truth is that life will throw you curveballs sooner or later. And at times it will suck. This year, my hubby and I got separated. I moved homes twice. I disconnected from dear friends. But even through all the change, I learned to forgive myself and put my happiness first. I learned to love all of me, even the imperfect parts. I reconnected with some of my immediate family. I even established a special bond with my grandma (a.k.a. Mima), my angel mother’s mom. She even has her own highlight on my Instagram (@winewithnat).

In life, we control how to handle changes. You can either focus on all the negatives or be grateful for all the positives.

What to do when life throws you curveballs and changes

1. Reevaluate old patterns

Changes are actually blessings. They force us out of our comfort zone. They make us think and get “real” with ourselves. Does this make me happy? Is this contributing to a better life? Do I feel fulfilled?

We wouldn’t ask ourselves these questions without the curveballs thrown our way. So you see where changes are actually blessings?

2. Change how you do things

Challenges force you to change the way you do things. Because the way you’ve been doing things isn’t working anymore. So you are forced to level up and solve “your own problems” no matter how hard it is.

Overcoming obstacles makes you stronger. Without change, we wouldn’t rise and thrive.

3. Embrace and grow

I now know that the people who aren’t happy are those that stay “stuck”. Stuck in the past. Stuck in unfulfilling lives. Stuck in their head. Stuck in what they thought their life should be like.

Instead, when you embrace changes in your life, that’s when you grow. That’s the moment when you start living your truth and best life. Sure, the growth period will be hard at times, but if you can find a way to rise above the challenges, I promise you that you will thrive.

So cheers to curveballs and changes in life. Now, who’s ready to Sip. Rise. Thrive. with me in 2019!? Drop me a comment below.
